14 Hart Street is the ideal base from which to explore Edinburgh and to take part in its festivals and international sporting events. Edinburgh is a small and compact city, and most of its monuments and tourist attractions are within easy walking distance of each other. From Hart Street, you can walk to the art galleries in Princes Street Gardens, to the museums in Chambers Street and to the castle and the palace in the Royal Mile. The National Portrait Gallery, the monuments of the Calton Hill, the Playhouse Theatre and the Omni Cinema and Leisure Centre are even closer. John Lewis, Harvey Nichols and the elegant and fashionable shops of Multrees Walk and George Street are also within easy striking distance. The Airport Tram takes you from nearby York Place to the rugby stadium at Murrayfield.
